New Online Classes: January 18 to March 12, 2021

Affordable, Engaging Virtual Afterschool Programs for Kids Ages 4 to 14

Led by our HIGH FIVE™ trained staff, University Settlement’s AFTERSCHOOL@HOME programs offer age-appropriate, unique, fun experiences that nurture exploration, spark imagination, and provide opportunities for physical activity.

Our age-appropriate classes include:

• A variety of free classes
• Specialized group classes for $20 for the full Winter term (8 weeks)
• One-on-One Tutoring for grades 4 to 9 for $160 for the full Winter term (8 weeks)

Online via Zoom: All classes are offered via Zoom. Every week you will receive an email with a link to join the class. All you need is a device with video capabilities – such as a smartphone, tablet or laptop and a strong internet connection.

Subsidy Available: Between 30% to 70% subsidy for all programs is available to qualifying families. Please apply for a subsidy when you complete your online registration.

Winter Term Programs and Fees

Free Classes (All Ages)

• Ages 4-5: Dance, Art, Homework Help, Board Games, Book Club (Monday – Friday, 4:15 pm – 5:15 pm)
• Ages 6-9: Homework Help, Art, Computer Club, Board Games, Book Club, Fun Friday (Monday – Friday, 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm)
• Ages 10-14: Fun Friday (Fridays, 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm)

Performing Arts ($20 for the Winter Term)

Ages 6-9 / Ages 10-14

Learn the fundamentals of acting, including improvisation, scene work, character work and more, all taught by a Theatre Arts educator. “All the world’s a stage” so see you at the (virtual) theatre!

Dance ($20 for the Winter Term)

Ages 4-5 / Ages 6-9 / Ages 10-14

Being active is more important than ever, and what better way to get active than with Dance! Your child will learn the fundamentals of dance and hone their skills by learning routines. We can’t wait to dance with you!

Yoga ($20 for the Winter Term)

Ages 6-9 / Ages 10-14

Yoga and mindfulness tailored to your child’s age! In this class, we will work on physical skills like flexibility and balance by learning yoga flows and deep-breathing strategies.

Karate ($20 for the Winter Term)

Ages 6-9 / Ages 10-14

Join us as we learn Karate! Taught by an experienced Karate champion with a Black belt in Shito-Ryu Karate and over 10 years of coaching experience and 5 years of competitive experience.

One-on-One Tutoring ($160/session for the Winter Term)

• Grades 4–9 subjects: English, Science, or Math
• 45 minutes per session
• Pick the day/time of the week that your child will attend in the Winter Term (e.g., Mondays at 7:30 pm). View schedule here
• Fees: $160 for the Winter Term (Note: If you wish your child to have Tutoring more than once a week, fees will be $160 for the Winter Term for each additional day/time.)

Mandarin Classes ($80 for the Winter Term)

We are thrilled to be offering Beginners and Intermediate classes with Ms. Li.

Free Parents Network (Wednesdays at 9:00 pm)

Parenting during COVID-19 presents a unique set of challenge. Our Parent Network will enable you to get advice, find support and have a listening ear.
