In the month of February we celebrated black history all across our Agency. We got our staff and community involved in various activities which helped them discover and learn about the lives of several African-Americans who made extraordinary achievements in their fields. We also held free film screenings which were open to everyone. We hoped to engage our community and help them to learn about the way in which African Americans helped shape history.

In honour of Black History Month, University Settlement will be screening documentaries throughout February. Each Thursday we will host a free community film screening at our 23 Grange Road location, in the Staff Lounge. By end of January, it is the time to welcome Chinese New Year 2014. The Lunar New Year is the biggest and the most significant celebration in China being observed worldwide by the Chinese. Every year we get together with our staff, members and Board and raise money for United Way. This year is no different! Our Settlement and Social Services department are teaming up to bring you a food and craft sale on November 21st.
Stop by our 23 Grange Road location from 10am until 2pm and check out the goodies. All proceeds will go to United Way. We hope to see you there in the morning or for lunch!
