The University Settlement Immigrant Settlement Adaptation Program (ISAP) is offering a number of workshops this month for anyone looking to develop their career skills or just learn something new.

Acces Employment

This workshop (in Farsi) offers a look at Acces and its services, with a particular focus on the engineering career path. Acces helps job seekers of diverse backgrounds who are facing barriers or difficulty in finding employment. They provide employment services such as networking with the ultimate goal of helping job seekers integrate into the Canadian job market.

In the month of February we celebrated  black history all across our Agency. We got our staff and community involved in various activities which helped them discover and learn about the lives of several African-Americans who made extraordinary achievements in their fields. We also held free film screenings which were open to everyone. We hoped to engage our community and help them to learn about the way in which African Americans helped shape history.

In honour of Black History Month, University Settlement will be screening documentaries throughout February. Each Thursday we will host a free community film screening at our 23 Grange Road location, in the Staff Lounge. Every year we get together with our staff, members and Board and raise money for United Way. This year is no different! Our Settlement and Social Services department are teaming up to bring you a food and craft sale on November 21st.

Stop by our 23 Grange Road location from 10am until 2pm and check out the goodies. All proceeds will go to United Way. We hope to see you there in the morning or for lunch!
