At University Settlement we offer programs for caregivers and their tots as well as for older children. Learning begins well before a child enters the classroom for the first time. Children’s early years are a time for growth, wonder and discovery.

University Settlement has an indoor pool which community members can access year round. The pool is used for lessons, lane swimming, family swimming, group rentals as well as other events.

Please note that Saturday Drop-in Gym time and Sunday Movie Day will not run in the summer from Easter Weekend to Thanksgiving Weekend, to promote everyone spending time being active outdoors! We look forward to seeing you back in the fall.

Our After School Program provides a safe and caring environment for your children to learn and grow. We offer various after school activities which cater to your child’s interests. Each after school class focuses on character development and team building. Our well trained and qualified staff are committed to treating all of our participants with respect and dignity. PA days and holidays are not included. Please see our Camp section for more details on our PA Day Camps, March Break Camp, and Summer Camp. The After School Program operates each school day during the year.

We provide a safe escort at the end of each school day from the following schools:
Orde Public School
Ogden Public School
Da Vinci Public School
Lord Lansdowne Public School
St. Mary Catholic School

Once participants arrive to University Settlement they put their backpacks and jackets away and get ready for a nutritious snack. At 4:30pm they are escorted to the program which they have signed up for. From 4:30pm until 5:30pm they are engaged in specialty programs. From 5:30pm – 6pm you can come pick up your child from our facility.

Activities and Programs:
We offer specialized classes for grade 1 and up such as: Hands-On Science, Coding, Book Club, Performance Arts, DIY Creations, Cooking, Lego Club, Graphic Design, and so much more! Your child can change classes termly, or stay in the classes they love and hone their skills further! Children are grouped as grade 1-2, grade 3+ and JK/SK. The JK/SK classroom does not select weekly classes, but instead receives a variety of them all, allowing them to be exposed to many different activities and develop varied interests.

We have different options for registration. If you are looking for 5 days a week for the entire 2017/2018 school year (Sept – June), you can register starting June 3 2017. If you are looking to register termly, or for 1-4 days a week, registration is on August 12 2017 for the 2017 Fall term (September to December).
