André McEvenue

André McEvenue is a Music Theory Teacher at University Settlement’s Music & Arts School. André McEvenue is an active composer and guitarist in the Canadian music scene who has collaborated with numerous artists, including Vaso String Quartet (String Quartet 2018), Reverb Brass (Whorls 2017), and The Array Music Ensemble (Fantigue 2019).

Biography

André McEvenue is an active composer and guitarist in the Canadian music scene who has collaborated with numerous artists, including Vaso String Quartet (String Quartet 2018), Reverb Brass (Whorls 2017), and The Array Music Ensemble (Fantigue 2019). His work has received premières at the Newfound Music Festival in St. John’s, Newfoundland: (Moirai 2016, Shai’Hulud 2015, Structures in the Sand 2014), and has been featured in other festivals across the country.

In September 2019, André commenced his PhD in composition at Western University, where he also completed his master’s degree in composition. André took part as a young composer in both the 2019 Orford Summer Academy, and the 2019 Array Music Young Composers Workshop, and he continues to participate actively in music festivals and seminars.
