Piano and Voice Teacher
Biography
Emily Ding has earned a Master of Music degree in Voice Performance from McGill University, her Bachelor of Music degree from University of Toronto, and a Grade 9 Certificate in Piano from Royal Conservatory of Music (Toronto).
Ms. Ding’s musical journey started with her love for the piano, which she studied for years before majoring in voice performance at university. She enjoys teaching piano from beginner and intermediate levels, and is busy providing both piano and voice lessons to pupils of all ages.
Since embarking on her vocal studies, Ms. Ding has excelled and won several competitions such as the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), Kiwanis Music Festival (Toronto), and first place at the 2008 edition of the Canadian Music Competition. In Toronto Ms. Ding has been seen on the concert stages of Glenn Gould Studio, George Western Recital Hall and the Richmond Centre for the Arts. Her operatic performances include Donna Elvira at Toronto’s Summer Opera Lyric Theatre’s production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Rosine in Canadian premier of Millaud’s La Mere Coupable, Frou Frou in Toronto Operetta Theatre production of The Merry Widow, and as Rosario in Opera Five’s production of Goyescas by Granados in May 2013.
Currently, Ms. Ding serves as a soprano lead at Bloor Street United Church, as a choral scholar at Pax Christi Choral, and works as a freelance photographer specializing in weddings, headshot, and lifestyle photography.
