Pool and Grange Fitness Centre Reopening August 3 with Limited Hours and Capacity

Welcome back!

We’re phasing in Aquatics and Grange Fitness Centre programs so that we can keep everyone safe. We’re planning to open up more programs after Labour Day.

  • Pool: Starting August 3 until September 4, the Pool will be open for Lane Swim, Family Swim, and Youth Swim (for swimmers aged 10 to 17) with limited hours and capacity Monday through Saturday.
  • Grange Fitness Centre: Reopening with limited hours and capacity Monday through Saturday
  • Badminton, Basketball and Yoga: Will continue to be suspended

All swims and Grange Fitness Centre workouts must be pre-booked. No drop-ins.

Plan to arrive 15 minutes before your swim or fitness session begins. Everyone must complete COVID-19 symptom screening when they arrive. Mask wearing is mandatory in all public spaces but not during workout sessions or in the pool.

Your health and safety, and that of our staff is our top priority. It is everyone’s responsibility. We all need to work together to keep each other safe. Please familiarize yourself with the mandatory health and safety measures at University Settlement and the information below about our Recreation programs.

New Health & Safety Steps for Recreation Activities

  • Arrive early to allow for screening and check-in.
  • Wear a mask right up until you begin your workout or activity.
  • Pre-book your workout, game or activity.
  • Maintain physical distancing in the Locker Rooms.
  • Wash your hands before and after you work out. There is a hand sanitizer station in the Grange Fitness Centre.
  • Wipe equipment down before and after you use it. Disinfectant wipes and spray bottles and paper towels are available in the Grange Fitness Centre.
  • Don’t work out immediately next to someone. There are only two treadmills in service to allow physical distancing.
  • Bring any gear you need, including your own water bottle (filled).

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to use the reservation you have made for the Grange Fitness Centre, please cancel it right away. Reservations will be held for 15 minutes. If you arrive later than 15 minutes, you will lose your priority and your spot will be given to another member.

With our new limited capacity, the Grange Fitness Centre and Pool may be totally booked up on PickTime but in reality there are often spaces available when people don’t show up. Please be considerate of your fellow members and cancel your reservation if you are unable to attend. Thank you.

Your Grange Fitness Membership

Grange Fitness Membership fees have been frozen since fall 2020. The next Membership billing will take place on September 15, 2021 and will cover the period of September 15 to October 14. If you had registered for the 6‑Month Membership, we will extend your membership to include a full 6 months before we begin automatic monthly payments.

Outdoor Fitness Fun Classes

Maximum 15 in each class.

Get fit in the great outdoors! Come and join us for a packed 45-minute workout that will get your heartrate up and your muscles moving. Classes will be held outdoors on the west side of the 23 Grange Road building.

Your health and safety is our top priority. Plan to arrive 15 minutes early to complete your COVID-19 screening. Participants will be spaced 6-feet apart.

These classes are set for different fitness levels. All exercises can be modified to suit your needs. So come out and join us for some fresh air and fitness.

What to bring

  • 1 class: $25 for four weeks of classes
  • 2 classes: $40 for four weeks of classes

Online Adult Fitness Classes

Strength Training 101

Just because you’re in lockdown doesn’t mean you can’t get in a great strength workout at home. Don’t have the equipment? Not to worry. You have everything you need at home — soup cans, detergent bottles, water bottles, and towels, for example. You don’t even need much space — just enough to stretch out your arms and legs. So, come join us for a great workout to help you and your body feel better.

Mind, Body and Soul

Are you feeling stressed or got the pandemic blahs? Do you need to get some energy back? Come join us in Mind, Body and Soul. This class is a combination of yoga, stretching, strengthening and mindfulness that will increase blood flow, boost your mood and increase your energy level. It’s also great for our overall health. Everyone welcome: beginners to advanced skill.
