Grange Fitness Centre and Recreation Activities

Your health and safety, and that of our staff is our top priority. It is everyone’s responsibility. We all need to work together to keep each other safe. Please familiarize yourself with the NEW mandatory health and safety measures at University Settlement and the information below about our Recreation programs.

Update: Grange Fitness Centre and Recreation Programs Temporarily Closed

As a result of the new measures announced by the Ontario government to help contain the current increase in COVID-19 infections, the Grange Fitness Centre, Badminton programs, and Yoga programs will be temporarily closed (as of Saturday, October 10) until we receive approval to reopen.

Grange Fitness Members: Please note that your Membership will be suspended throughout the temporary closure.

Please stay safe.

Update: Basketball Cancelled Until Further Notice
In light of the new COVID-19 Guidance for Sports & Recreational Fitness Facilities issued by Toronto Public Health on September 11, 2020, University Settlement is cancelling its basketball programming until further notice. Please keep checking this website for more information.

Update: Swimming Pool
We can hardly wait to welcome you back as soon as it is safe to do so. We’ll be announcing the pool reopening plan as soon as Toronto Public Health allows us to open again. Please check back here for updates.

  • Wear a mask right up until you begin your workout or activity.

With our new limited capacity the Grange Fitness Centre and Badminton programs are often totally booked up on PickTime but in reality there are often spaces available when people don’t show up. Please be considerate of your fellow members and cancel your reservation if you are unable to attend. Thank you.

New Membership Requirements for Badminton Players

In order for us to meet the Toronto Public Health COVID-19 tracking requirements, there are new Membership requirements for Badminton players who are not Grange Fitness Members. Players must purchase a University Settlement Membership ($20 per year plus HST) and a $50 Pass for 10 visits.

Grange Fitness Membership fees were frozen on March 15, when the temporary closure began. The next Membership billing will take place on September 15 and will cover September 15 to October 14. If you had registered for the 6-Month Membership, we will extend your membership to include a full 6 months before we begin automatic monthly payments.

We are limiting the number of people who have access to the Locker Rooms. Locker Rooms are only available to people using the pool or the Grange Fitness Centre. People coming for Badminton, Basketball and Yoga will not be able to use the Locker Rooms.
