Spring Swim Lessons and Training Programs: Registration is Now Open

Spring swim lessons begin April 11th. Learn to swim or improve your technique. We offer a range of group classes and private instruction. All swim programs are taught by Lifesaving Society certified instructors. Registration is now open.

Online Registration

You can register and pay online for all swim lessons and courses. If you have any questions, please contact the Recreation Supervisor at aquatics@universitysettlement.ca, or call 416‑598‑3444 ext. 228.

Please note: Agency Membership is required. You must be a University Settlement Agency Member to register. You can sign up as an Agency Member at the front desk at 23 Grange Road.

Pool Policies

Admittance Policy

Child(ren) that are 9 years and under must be accompanied by a guardian that is 14 years and older. The guardian must remain within arms reach of the child(ren) at all times.

Deep End Swim Test

If you are 13 years old and under, you must take a deep end test to swim in the deep end. These are the deep end test must-sees:

  • Swim 2 continuous widths of the pool
  • Face in the water and ability to take breaths
  • No stopping or touching the pool bottom
  • Comfort in water
  • Recognizable front swim (front crawl or breastroke)

General Pool Rules

  • Supervise and remain within arms reach of children
  • Shower before entering pool
  • Swim in bathing suit
  • Do not run on pool deck
  • Do not wear outdoor shoes on pool deck
  • No food or drinks or glass on pool deck
  • No playing rough

Booking Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to use the reservation you have made for the Pool, please cancel it right away. Reservations will be held for 15 minutes. If you arrive later than 15 minutes, you will lose your priority and your spot will be given to another member.

With our new limited capacity, the Pool may be totally booked up on PickTime but in reality there are often spaces available when people don’t show up. Please be considerate of your fellow members and cancel your reservation if you are unable to attend. Thank you.

Health & Safety Steps for Swimmers

Your health and safety, and that of our staff is our top priority. It is everyone’s responsibility. Please familiarize yourself with the health and safety measures at University Settlement.

Wear a Mask

Mask wearing is not required but it is encouraged. Please wear a mask in all indoor spaces (including locker rooms), except the pool.

Bring Your Own Gear and Drinking Water

Bring any gear you need, including your own water bottle (filled).
