Afterschool at University Settlement is back! Registration is Now Open!
University Settlement’s Afterschool program offers a fun and enriching way for children in downtown Toronto to end their school day. Our Afterschool program is open to children in JK/SK to Grade 6.
The After School Program includes a safe walking escort from three local schools (Lord Lansdowne P.S., Ogden P.S., and Orde P.S.). After a daily snack, children participate in activities from 4:15 pm to 5:30 pm with parent pick-up from 5:30 pm to 6:00 pm. Students participate in a variety of activities such as arts and crafts, active games, on-site swimming lessons, hands-on science, Lego club, and cooking & baking programs.
Flexible Registration
Parents can opt to register for after-school care for one to five days a week by term (Fall, Winter, Spring) or for five days a week for the full year.

The Afterschool Program does not run on TDSB PA days, March Break, or on Statutory Holidays and Observances:

Affordable Fees
Starting January 1, 2023, term registration for University Settlement’s Afterschool Program is $20 per day. If your child does not require the pick-up from the three schools, the child is expected to be dropped between 4:00 pm to 4:30 pm and the fee is $18 per day. Payment plans will be available.

Payment Policy
A 30% non-refundable deposit is required upon registration.
Annual Agency Membership
Annual Agency Membership is required for all families participating in programs/activities at University Settlement (this includes one adult and up to 5 children; if your spouse is interested in registering in programs for themselves, they will need to sign up for their own membership).
School Escort
We offer a safe walking escort from Orde Street, Ogden and Lord Landsdowne Public Schools every school day. After being picked up by our trained staff, children will walk back to University Settlement and receive a nutritious snack.
Engaging Activities
University Settlement offers a full range of social recreational programs that provide children with opportunities to build skills, confidence, and community to support them to achieve their full potential.
Activities vary to provide a balanced week for our JK/SK group, whereas our grade 1-2 and grade 3+ groups can select programs based on interests. We offer activities such as arts and crafts, sports, Lifesaving Society Swim for Life lessons, computer skills including typing and graphic design, cooking, dance, hands-on science, and more!

Financial Assistance
Families looking for Financial Assistance must contact kidsprograms@universitysettlement.ca to submit the most recent copy of the household Canada Child Benefit (CCB) statement and proof of address BEFORE registering for Camp. There is a limit to our subsidy funding, therefore, the subsidy is not guaranteed.

If your child attends a school other than the three schools we currently have pick-up from, if we have 10 or more children from the new school, we are able to set up school pick up for your children.
Please note: if you are dropping your child off directly to our program and are not in need of the afterschool pick-up/safe walk, the fee will be less than the daily fee which includes the safe walk portion. Updated prices and information will be posted closer to the registration date.

One-on-One Math Tutoring
Weekly private math tutoring is available for Grades 4 to 9 (online via Zoom).

Learn Mandarin Online
Open to children ages 4 to 14. Fall classes begin September 16.
