We provide a range of free counselling, programs and services specifically designed for older adults 55+.

Daily Life Assistance

If you’re 55 or older, we’re here to help you:

  • Understand the services and supports available to make your life easier
  • Navigate the application process for Old Age Security and other income supports
  • Prepare Toronto Community Housing Annual Rent Renewals
  • Obtain government documents, including Ontario Health Card, Social Insurance Number, Driver’s License, Marriage and Birth Certificates
  • Access other needed services
  • File your Income Tax
  • Complete forms

We provide:

  • Translation of documents
  • Information and referrals to other services, e.g., health, legal, financial

Seniors’ Digital Connection

Seniors’ Digital Connection is a free program that facilitates seniors’ autonomy and helps seniors stay connected by teaching them how to use basic electronic devices, promote independent living, and maintain social contact.

  • Dates: Fridays (May 5, 12, 19, 26, and June 2, 9, 16, 23, 30)
  • Time: 10:00 am to 12:00 pm

Seniors’ Technology Clinic (One-on-One Assistance)

Do you have a problem with your smartphone or computer? The Senior’s Technology Clinic helps to evaluate and diagnose common technology devices, such as smartphones and computers, to help solve common problems with devices.

This clinic provides one-on-one assistance with devices, in English and Mandarin. Registration is required.

  • Dates: Thursdays (May 4, May 18)
  • Time: 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm
  • Language: Mandarin and English
  • Location: Room 208, University Settlement (23 Grange Road, Toronto)
  • Cost: Free for everyone 55 years and older

Tai Chi Class

  • Date: Mondays to Fridays
  • Time: 9:00 am to 10:00 am
  • Location: Gymnasium (University Settlement at 23 Grange Road)
  • Cost: Free!*

Tai Chi Kung Fu Fan Class

Tai Chi Kung Fu Fan is a unique martial art based on traditional tai chi forms that combines elements of dance and other styles of martial arts.

Exercise your mind and body while you learn this beautiful and elegant Chinese martial art practice.

Basic knowledge and previous experience in Tai Chi is necessary for this class.

Chinese Music Appreciation Workshop

Want to learn how to appreciate Chinese music? Our monthly workshop series will help you analyze music with examples from a piece of chosen music or song.

This workshop occurs once per month. The date changes each month – register online to be notified of upcoming workshop dates.
