Additional Information

Program Modifications

We may modify, add, or delete activities from the program based on camper interests, facility space and weather alerts, etc.

Dismissal Policy

University Settlement Community Centre Children’s Programs has a Code of Conduct and expectations that all participants, families, volunteers and staff are expected to follow.

We reserve the right to dismiss a child who, in their opinion, is a hazard to the safety or rights of others, or who appears to have rejected the reasonable expectations of the program as set by the Code of Conduct.

Refunds or credits are not available if a child is dismissed from the program.

Toilet Training Policy

We require all children attending to be toilet trained. This means that children should be able to use the toilet independently, including pulling down and up their pants, wiping themselves, and washing their hands. We have this requirement to ensure the comfort, safety, and hygiene of all campers and to provide an optimal camp experience for everyone. Toilet training helps promote independence and allows children to participate fully in all camp activities without interruptions.

If your child is currently in the process of toilet training or has special circumstances, please let us know in advance of enrollment so that we can discuss possible accommodations or alternative arrangements.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly.

Sign Out Policy

Authorized pick ups must present valid current forms of ID upon pick up.

Kids 12 and up with documented parental and guardian consent (contact Children Programs Coordinator) are allowed to sign in and out of the program.

Financial Assistance

Financial assistance may be available for children aged 18 years and younger, whose families qualify for support. Eligibility is based on the total household income, and the number of people in the family. A copy of your latest Canada Child Benefit (CCB) is required to process your eligibility.

Subsidies are available on a first come, first-serve basis. There is a limit to our subsidy funding, therefore, the subsidy is not guaranteed.

Contact the Children’s Program Coordinator at kidsprograms@universitysettlement.ca to determine eligibility before enrolling in the program. Please ensure payment is made within 5 days of when the subsidy is applied to your account.

Payment Policy

A full payment is required upon registration.

Dana & Tom’s Story —“Our boys come home beaming with pride as they share the various life skills they have learned, ranging from swimming to cooking…”

[Dana & Tom are parents of children attending our afterschool program]

“We wanted to express our heartfelt appreciation for the afterschool program at University Settlement. As parents, it’s wonderful to see our children thrive in such a nurturing and engaging environment. From the very beginning, we have been amazed by the exceptional management team who consistently go above and beyond their call of duty. They have not only provided a high level of care for our children but have also accommodated last-minute emergency changes, including bus cancellations and school strikes, with unwavering support and understanding. This level of flexibility has been invaluable to our family.

The programming at University Settlement is nothing short of excellent. Our boys come home beaming with pride as they share the various life skills they have learned, ranging from swimming to cooking. The program’s dedication to fostering a holistic educational experience is truly commendable.

One of the most rewarding aspects of University Settlement’s aftercare program is the strong sense of community it fosters. Our children have forged special friendships with their peers, and they often speak of the educators and lifeguards in high regard.

As working parents, the safe walk escort from nearby schools and bus stops is of utmost importance to us. The peace of mind that comes with knowing our children are well taken care of during their busy downtown commute is immeasurable.

The dedication, passion, and commitment to providing a safe, enriching, and enjoyable experience for our children has not gone unnoticed. We are truly fortunate to have found a program that not only meets but exceeds our expectations. University Settlement has become an integral part of our family’s journey, and we eagerly look forward to many more wonderful years with University Settlement.”

– Dana and Tom
