Summer Day Camp

Join us all summer long for swimming, crafts, dance, games, sports…and more! Led by our HIGH FIVE™ trained staff, University Settlement’s Summer Camps offer age-appropriate, unique, fun experiences that nurture exploration, spark imagination, and provide opportunities for physical activity.

Summer Camp 2023:
July 3 to August 25 (for Ages 4 to 12)

Keep your children active, having fun and making new friends all summer long. Join us for arts and crafts, swimming, baking, STEM activities, outdoor fun, day trips and more!

Led by our HIGH FIVE™ trained staff, University Settlement’s Summer Camps offer age-appropriate, unique, fun experiences that nurture exploration, spark imagination, and provide opportunities for physical activity.

Registration is now open for Summer Camp 2023. Early bird discount (10% off) is available until March 31st.

Small Camp Cohorts

This summer camp will run for eight weeks. Each week, there will be different camp cohorts with a limited number of campers:

  • Explorers Camp (ages 4 to 5): 15 participants per week
  • Rangers Camp (ages 6 to 7): 15 participants per week
  • Voyagers Camp (ages 8 to 9): 15 participants per week
  • Adventurers Camp (ages 10 to 12): 15 participants per week

Daily Camp Schedule

  • Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Drop-off 8:45 AM to 9:00 AM. Pick-up 4:45 PM to 5:00 PM)
  • Extended Care Options (early drop-off / late pick-up): Drop-off 8:10 AM to 8:45 AM; Pick up 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM

2023 Camp Dates (July 3 to August 5)

  • Week 1: July 3 to July 7
  • Week 2: July 10 to July 14
  • Week 3: July 17 to July 21
  • Week 4: July 24 to July 28
  • Week 5: July 31 to August 4
  • Week 6: Tuesday, August 8 to Friday, August 11 (no camp on Monday, August 7 – Civic Holiday)
  • Week 7: August 14 to August 18
  • Week 8: August 21 to August 25*

*Settlement Sports + Swim Camp (August 21 to August 25)

Where play and performance go hand in hand. We provide a fun and safe environment where our HIGH Five certified staff will support your children to challenge themselves.

Participate in daily 30-minute Life Saving Society swim lessons to receive a progress report at the end of camp. Learn the fundamentals of team games, team sports, individual and dual sports, dance, gymnastics, and track & field in the Grange! Each day will end with a competitive challenge to test your skills.

Activities

  • On-site camp swim Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays
  • Local trips: Tuesdays & Thursdays
  • Daily arts and crafts, STEM activities, active games, sports, and more!

Camp Fees

$275 per week (Early Bird Discount 10% off available until March 31)

Late Pick-up Fee

Please note, there is a Late Pick-up fee after 5:00 PM (and after 6:00 PM for those registered in extended care).

Late Pick-up Policy: $1 per minute for the first 30 minutes, $2 per minute after 30 minutes. The fine will be added to your account.

Extended Care (Early drop-off / Late pick-up)

  • Early drop-off: 8:10 am to 8:45 am
  • Late pick-up: 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm
  • Fee: $10 per day for each option. Discounts are available if you register for extended care for a full week.
  • Registration: Please ensure you add extended care options to your cart upon registration if you are interested in participating in our extended care program.

Additional Information

Snacks

All campers will receive 1 snack each day, please pack additional snacks for your campers.

Lunch (No Seeds or Nuts)

All campers must pack a seed and nut-free lunch for each day of camp.

Camp T-Shirt

One camp T-Shirt will be given for each camper, additional shirts can be purchased for $10.

Financial Assistance

Families looking for Financial Assistance must contact kidsprograms@universitysettlement.ca to submit the most recent copy of the household Canada Child Benefit (CCB) statement and proof of address BEFORE registering for Summer Camp. There is a limit to our subsidy funding, therefore, the subsidy is not guaranteed.

Financial assistance applications are accepted from March 1 to March 20.

Payment Policy: A 30% non-refundable deposit is required upon registration

Payment plans are available for the remaining balance, payment will be due 7 days prior to the start of camp (Monday of each camp week is the first day of camp). Refunds are based on the remaining balance.

Camp Refund Policy

Refunds for camps will be made if requested by email according to the schedule listed below. An in-house credit can also be obtained instead of a refund. This credit can be put towards other camps, programs, or membership fees if guidelines below are met. Refunds on credit cards are subject to the administrative fee deducted from the total amount. We reserve the right to grant exceptions to the stated policy in cases of illness.

Refund Schedule

  • Refunds requested at least 15 days before start of the camp: 100% refund of remaining balance
  • Refunds requested 7 to 14 days before start of the camp: 75% refund of remaining balance
  • Refunds requested less than 7 days before start of the camp: 50% credit to your account
  • Refunds requested after the start of camp: no refunds offered

Transfer Policy

If you would like to transfer to a different camp week, a transfer request can be submitted before the initial camp week starts. Transfer approvals are dependent on available space in each camp week and only one transfer/camper will be permitted. A $10 administration fee will be charged.

Annual Agency Membership is Required

Annual Agency Membership is required for all families participating in programs/activities at University Settlement (this includes one adult and up to 5 children – your partner can be listed as your child’s authorized pick up and emergency contact; if your spouse is interested in registering in programs for themselves, they will need to sign up for their own membership).
