We offer a variety of in-person and online fitness classes that are based on improving your well-being. Whether you want to improve your fitness, strength, tone up, or de-stress, we can help you achieve your goals.

All Fitness Classes must be pre-booked. No drop-ins.


In-Person Fitness Classes

Strength Training (New!)

Strength training or resistance training involves the performance of physical exercises that are designed to improve strength and endurance. It is often associated with the lifting of weights. It can also incorporate a variety of training techniques such as calisthenics, isometrics, and plyometrics.

Yoga

This combination of yoga and stretch will help your mind body and soul flow as one while strengthening and improving the general mobility of your body.

  • Tuesday: 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm
  • Tuesday (Hatha): 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm
  • Thursday: 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm

Health & Safety Steps at the Grange Fitness Centre

Your health and safety, and that of our staff is our top priority. Please familiarize yourself with the health and safety measures at University Settlement and the guidelines below.

Pre-Book Your Class Online

All activities must be pre-booked. No drop-ins. Pre-book your activity or class online using our new online portal: PickTime. See below for more details.

Wear a Mask

Mask wearing is not required but it is encouraged. Please wear a mask in all indoor spaces (including locker rooms).

Maintain Physical Distance

Everyone must maintain a physical distance of 6 feet at all times (including when inside the Locker Rooms). Don’t work out immediately next to someone. There are only two treadmills in service to allow physical distancing.

Wash and Sanitize Your Hands

Wash your hands before and after you work out. There is a hand sanitizer station in the Grange Fitness Centre.

Disinfect Equipment Before and After Use

Wipe equipment down before and after you use it. Disinfectant wipes and spray bottles and paper towels are available in the Grange Fitness Centre.

Bring Your Own Gear and Drinking Water

Bring any gear you need, including your own water bottle (filled). Water fountains are not available at this time.

Limited Access to Locker Rooms

We are limiting the number of people who have access to the Locker Rooms. Locker Rooms are only available to people using the pool or the Grange Fitness Centre.

Membership and Policies

Fitness Membership Fees

Fitness membership includes access to the Grange Fitness Centre, the swimming pool, free aquatics programs, and fitness classes.

Adult Membership (Ages 26 to 59)

$44 per month

Youth Membership (Ages 18 to 25)

$34 per month

Senior Membership (Ages 60+)

$34 per month

Day Pass (Ages 18+)

$10 per day

Please note:

  • Taxes: Taxes are additional (13% HST)
  • University Settlement Annual Membership Fee: For all monthly fitness memberships, a University Settlement annual membership is required.
  • Fitness Membership Card Replacement Fee: $2 per card. This applies for lost or missing cards only. Damaged cards will be replaced for free.

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to use the reservation you have made for a Fitness Class, please cancel it right away. Reservations will be held for 15 minutes. If you arrive later than 15 minutes, you will lose your priority and your spot will be given to another member.

With our new limited capacity, the Fitness Class may be totally booked up on PickTime but in reality there are often spaces available when people don’t show up. Please be considerate of your fellow members and cancel your reservation if you are unable to attend. Thank you.
