Daily Life Assistance

If you’re 55 or older, we’re here to help you:

  • Understand the services and supports available to make your life easier
  • Navigate the application process for Old Age Security and other income supports
  • Prepare Toronto Community Housing Annual Rent Renewals
  • Obtain government documents, including Ontario Health Card, Social Insurance Number, Driver’s License, Marriage and Birth Certificates
  • Access other needed services
  • File your Income Tax
  • Complete forms

We provide:

  • Translation of documents
  • Information and referrals to other services, e.g., health, legal, financial

Technology Fundamentals for Seniors

Join us to learn about essential digital skills. This is an in-person program features small class size and focuses on teaching seniors the fundamentals to allow them to use technology to assist their daily lives. Seniors will gain knowledge and confidence using smartphones, tablets and the internet. Our friendly instructor will provide step-by-step instructions, making it easy to learn.

Technology Class

Are you interested in learning how to create and use email, change passwords, use online banking and more? Join our FREE, in-person Technology class to learn how to use technology to assist your daily life. These are beginner technology classes tailored to support adults 55+ to use their electronic devices. Some of our past topics include how to use e-mail/ internet browser/ google map/ YouTube, etc.

Seniors’ Digital Connect

Seniors’ Digital Connect is a program dedicated to fostering seniors’ autonomy and enhancing their connectivity by empowering with the skills needed to navigate their daily electronic devices. Tailored for adults aged 55 and above, the program delivers a range of intermediate to advanced technology classes. Past topics include online shopping, simple photo-editing on smartphone, etc.

Music, Arts, and Crafts Programs

Chinese Calligraphy, Arts & Crafts

Participants will have opportunities learning about different types of art and their techniques. The sessions will cover topics such as pencil drawing, line drawing, papercutting, origami, traditional Chinese calligraphy and Chinese painting.

Outdoor Wellness Program (New!)

The Outdoor Wellness Program is a unique summer initiative designed to engage seniors and older adults in the vibrant natural landscapes of downtown Toronto. This program aims to promote physical well-being, mental health, and social connections through explorations of the city’s diverse nature trails.

Tai Chi Kung Fu Fan Class

Tai Chi Kung Fu Fan is a unique martial art based on traditional Tai Chi forms that combine elements of dance and other styles of martial arts. It is a great way to exercise your mind and body while learning about this beautiful and elegant Chinese martial art practice.

Note: Basic knowledge and previous experience in Tai Chi are necessary for this class.

Herb Garden Revitalization (New!)

Join us for a refreshing and rewarding experience in our back garden this summer!

Starting July 9, we invite community members to help us rejuvenate our beloved community herb garden. Come get your hands dirty and learn about practical gardening skills as we work together to plant, prune, and nurture a variety of herbs. Whether you are an experienced gardener or a beginner looking to learn, this program offers a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature, meet new people, and contribute to our community’s green space.

Telephone-Based Program for Older Adults

Do you want to know about what’s happening in the community? Do you want to learn about local news, health and safety information? Do you want to learn more about Canadian culture, landscape and history? Come join our weekly telephone-based program designed specifically for adults 55+ who would like to stay up to date about local news and community events.

All you need to do to join us is call our toll-free number using your phone or family phone line. You will be connected to our group session on the phone in no time! Program is currently being offered in Mandarin.
