Covid-19 Health & Safety Measures

Your health and safety, and that of our staff is our top priority. Before you visit our facilities, please review the mandatory health and safety protocols and processes for all University Settlement locations.

Covid-19 Health & Safety Measures

Before you arrive, please familiarize yourself with the steps we’re putting in place to help keep you and our staff safe. Please take a few minutes now to review the mandatory health and safety protocols and processes for all University Settlement locations.

We all need to be extra careful! Please help us implement these new steps to keep yourself, other members and our staff as safe as possible.

Health & Safety Measures

Your health and safety, and that of our staff is our top priority. It is everyone’s responsibility. We all need to work together to keep each other safe. University Settlement staff will be rigorously cleaning high touch surfaces frequently and sanitizing to meet the stringent Toronto Public Health and other government guidelines.

No drop-in recreation activities, meetings, or visits

  • You must pre-schedule a meeting, class, or workshop at any of our locations and pre-book a Grange Fitness Centre workout or swim.
  • Please call (416) 598-3444 to contact the Settlement Counsellor, Music & Arts School staff, or person you want to meet with, in advance to make an appointment.
  • If you are a Grange Fitness Centre Member, you can book your workout or swim online.

Wear a mask

Please wear a mask or face covering in all indoor spaces unless you are in the pool, doing a work out, taking a woodwind class, or a voice lesson. Mask wearing is not required but it is encouraged. If you forget your mask or face covering, you can buy a disposable mask for $1 at the Front Desk.

Physical distancing

Everyone must maintain a physical distance of 2 meters (6 feet) at all times. You will see signage and decals on the floors and walls to guide you and help you keep physical distance.

Hand sanitizing

Hand sanitizing stations are available in the Lobby and Grange Fitness Centre. Please remember to wash your hands frequently.

New hours

Check the University Settlement website to stay up to date with any programming time changes and the new hours of operation at our Spadina Avenue and North York locations.

Visitors are not permitted

To limit possible COVID-19 exposure, family members and friends are not permitted to accompany a client to meetings with Settlement & Social Services and Seniors counsellors. If required, a caregiver may accompany a disabled or elderly person in need.

Parents and caregivers may accompany Music & Arts School students to the School. Only students are permitted in the studio for lessons or classes.

Program Overview

We’re taking in a phased-in approach to reopening some of our activities.

We’ve also set limits on the number of participants permitted in any one class or session. All drop-in programs are suspended for now. The chart below will give you a snapshot of what’s currently available.
