Workout, Learn to Swim, and Improve Your Stroke

Swimming is great exercise! If swimming is your workout, book your Lane Swim or Aquafit class today. If you want to learn to swim or improve your stroke technique, we offer a range of Lifesaving Society classes and private and semi-private instruction.   • Adult swim programs, with the exception of Lane Swim, are open to people 18 years and up
  • Please note pool capacities vary by program.
  • All swims must be pre-booked. No drop-ins.

Adult Swim Programs

Lane Swim

Open to ages 18+ and swimmers 12+ enrolled in Swim Kids Level 8 or higher.

Capacity:
20 people. 6 feet distance.

Aquafit

Take is easy or go all out. You determine the level of intensity that’s right for you. Our Aquafit class is a great workout for everyone!

Capacity:
20 people. 6 feet distance.

Monday and Wednesday:
10:00 am to 10:55 am

Tuesday and Thursday:
6:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Fees:
Included in Grange Fitness Centre membership

Private Lessons

One-on-one swim instruction with a Lifesaving Society Certified instructor. Each lesson is 30 minutes. Lessons available weekdays and weekends.

Capacity:
1 person. 6‑feet distance.

Summer Lessons (July 4 to August 26):
$240 (exceptions: Monday, Saturday, and Sunday sessions are $210)

Fall Lessons (September 10 to December 5):
Fees TBC

Master Swim Team (New!)

Master Swim is a competitive swim team for adults who want to improve their swimming strokes and possibly participate in friendly competitions. The entire program is focused on the competitive practice of swimming as fast as possible. This program offers practice sessions and swim meets.

All swim meets are optional. Swim meets may require travel to a different pool to compete. Swimmers must be able to complete at least 2 lengths of the pool non-stop.

Capacity:
20 people. 6‑feet distance.

Summer Schedule (July 5 to August 30):
Tuesday, 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Fees:
Included in Grange Fitness Centre membership

Book Your Spot:
All swim meets are optional. You can book your spot on Picktime each week before each meet, starting Thursday, June 30th.

Free Leisure Swim (All Ages)

Come and enjoy the pool. Have fun and get comfortable in the water. Our Free Leisure Swims are open to all ages – adults, seniors, kids, and youth. Everyone in the pool!

Capacity:
30 people

Summer Schedule:

  • Friday: 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
  • Saturday and Sunday: 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm

Free!

Note: For a family booking with kids, one parent has to be an agency member & can book for a maximum of 4 family members within the same household.

New Health & Safety Steps for Swimmers

Your health and safety, and that of our staff is our top priority. It is everyone’s responsibility. Please familiarize yourself with the health and safety measures at University Settlement.

Pre-Book Your Swim Online

All swims must be pre-booked. No drop-ins. Pre-book your swim session online using our new online portal: PickTime. See below for more details.

Wear a Mask

Mask wearing is not required but it is encouraged. Please wear a mask in all indoor spaces (including locker rooms), except the pool.

Maintain Physical Distance

Everyone must maintain a physical distance of 6 feet at all times (including when inside the Locker Rooms).

Bring Your Own Gear and Drinking Water

Bring any gear you need, including your own water bottle (filled). Water fountains are not available at this time.

Limited Access to Locker Rooms

We are limiting the number of people who have access to the Locker Rooms. Locker Rooms are only available to people using the pool or the Grange Fitness Centre.

Online Pre-Booking Required

To help keep you safe, we are limiting the number of participants. To participate, you must pre-book your swim on PickTime scheduling portal.

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to use the reservation you have made for the Pool, please cancel it right away. Reservations will be held for 15 minutes. If you arrive later than 15 minutes, you will lose your priority and your spot will be given to another member.

With our new limited capacity, the Pool may be totally booked up on PickTime but in reality there are often spaces available when people don’t show up. Please be considerate of your fellow members and cancel your reservation if you are unable to attend. Thank you.
